FAHM is a nationally recognized event that commemorates the presence of our people in the United States and the experiences that helped shape the history of this country. In preparation for this resilient and celebratory period, we would like to share a piece of history:
"In 2018, we will celebrate the 120th Anniversary of the declaration of Philippine independence from Spain in 1898 and mark (not celebrate) the 120th Anniversary of the Spanish-American War. Spain and the US engaged in a brief war in May, 1898 when it was believed that a US ship, The Maine, was bombed by the Spanish in Havana Harbor.
